When the Finger Lakes were named the #1 Wine Region in the USA in 2018 by USA Today a lot of heads turned. With 200+ wineries and more vineyards than you can count they have been working diligently to earn that mark. The region has been famous for Riesling for decades but now they are racking up (pun intended) medal s in more categories .
The Cayuga Lake Wine Trail is America’s First Wine Trail and the local makers vibe is amazing. Smaller, passionate and very personal wineries dot this wine trail with a culture of being able to chat with the owner s and wine makers most every day.
The Cayuga Lake Wine Trail sits just above the hike-able gorges and waterfalls of the Ithaca area. Ithaca of course is home to a great farm- totable foodie culture that local s and visitors both enjoy.
