Urbana Farmstead brings people together around growing, cooking and eating healthy food. Always guided by the seasons, Chef Margie Raimondo and her partner Chris Beaver grow herbs and vegetables in vibrant gardens on the one-acre urban farm. Chef Margie teaches garden-based cooking and preservation classes to adults and children. She also offers a monthly high tea, a four-course mediterranean-style meal with her special blended Urbana Farmstead teas.
Urbana Farmstead also offers a retail space where you can buy hand-crafted preserves and farm-to table meals.In addition to teaching, Chef Margie publishes heritage food and farm stories through film and cookbooks. Author of Mangiamo, a Mediterranean cookbook with recipes from her family and travels. Also Director of the award-winning documentary, The Soul of Sicily, that tells the story of how people nurture the soul of Sicily, the land and their traditions, even in the face of an uncertain future of farming.
